I Care for the Environment, a Simple Advocate to Commitment

Our planet is our home and the source of our food, but are we living in harmony with it? We humans appear to have chosen a path of self-destruction, destroying the very environment that protects us. From rising carbon emissions to deforestation and land degradation, anthropogenic activities are having a negative impact on our ecosystems and environmental biodiversity. We're nearing the end of this crucial decade, and despite several strategic plans and initiatives to mobilize people at various levels, we're still falling short of our objectives. Trends in biodiversity and ecosystem conservation show that we need to do a lot more. We can feel helpless and powerless as teenagers at times, unable to act or do things that are important to us because governments and large corporations make important decisions. While major changes can only be achieved if countries and corporations change their policies and actions, we can all make a difference as individuals, whether through small actions or larger initiatives. Remember that consumers control markets, and that changing their consumption habits can have a big impact on how goods are produced and traded.

A surprising number of people, businesses, and communities want to do more to conserve and protect our natural resources, but we don't know where to start. The first thing I need to learn is what makes these aspects of our world part of the process of changing and conserving our resources, and how to get started making a difference. Being environmentally friendly simply entails leading a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. It's just a matter of taking small steps toward caring for Mother Earth in order to make this planet a better place for our communities and future generations. Starting with water conservation, driving less and walking more, consuming less energy, buying recycled products, eating locally grown vegetables, joining environmental groups to combat air pollution, producing less waste, planting more trees, and so on, is a good place to start.

“ Environment friendly processes, or environmental – friendly process ( also referred to as eco – friendly, nature – friendly, and green), are sustainability and marketing terms referring to good and services, laws, guidelines and policies that claim reduced, minimal, or no harm upon ecosystems or the environment.”

I can't point to a single company or practice and blame it for all of our environmental problems; everything fits together like a puzzle. The more we all do our part, the faster we will be able to create an entire eco-system that promotes sustainability. The first step is to learn the fundamentals of what each aspect of life can do to make it more environmentally friendly. The next step is to begin learning to make different personal choices that will aid in changing our awareness and consumption of resources. The changes are surprisingly simple to implement; there are more ways to practice conservation than I can imagine.

The environmentally friendly business becoming an environmentally friendly business is more complicated than just signing on to a cap and trade agreement. Everything from the way that products are displayed and advertised, how waste is recycled, whether or not changes can be made to the basic operations of a business will all work towards making them more environmentally responsible. A large emphasis on non – producing businesses can be placed on the management of supplies. Buying local may not always be the most responsible way to get supplies, but I can be as well. How business works to support our community in our environmental conservation efforts is also another important task of the environmentally friendly business. The environmentally friendly community in an environmentally friendly community, there is more than just a good recycling program in place. Communities that are committed to conservation and preservation of resources work to encourage options like community playgrounds, public transportation, green construction, and also to change the way that fossil fuels and other resources are used to support community services. The environmentally friendly person is the person who moves through life with an awareness of how natural resources are used to create and support the life that they live. Recycle, conserve water and fuel, and make other choices that not only lessen their impact on our environment but also support industries that are working towards being more environmentally responsible.

Learning to be more environmentally conscious is simpler than we think. I don't have to change everything at once; start small to make changes more sustainable and a part of our daily lives.

·       Become more aware of resources start by living with a greater awareness of the resources that you use in your daily life. Pay attention to how you choose to heat, to travel, to use water, and use products that were made by manufacturing practices.

·         Practice conservation  with our new awareness of how natural resources are used in your life, start to practice conservation. It can be as simple as turning off the lights as you leave a room and as complex as making different choices when it comes to building your home. Learn here more about 15 green home building techniques.

 *      Plant trees are necessary for us to survive. They give oxygen, fruits, clean the air, provide shelter to wildlife, prevent soil erosion. A shady landscape around your home can help you to reduce the consumption of energy and keep your home cool even during summers. Plant small trees around your home and don’t cut trees unless it’s necessary; work with local environmental groups to plant more trees and educate others about the positive aspects of it.

·          Conserve water needs to be conserved as a lot of energy is required to pump water from rivers or lakes into your home. Conserving water reduces the amount of energy that is needed to filter it. Few ways to conserve water are – take short showers, fix leaking pipes, keep the running tap close while you brush your teeth, recycle water in your home, use water-saving appliances, collect rainwater in a rain barrel to water your lawn.

·         Reduce/Recycle paper similarly recycling unwanted paper will reduce the raw material demand for paper production,  thus conserving trees and forest ecosystems. From online assignments, to writing e-exams, thanks to the advent of technology, paper isn’t something that is necessary anymore. By making use of smart technologies that are available today, we can effortlessly shift away from paper-based activities, at all levels. Recycling is a simple, yet effective way of conserving resources and reducing our individual carbon footprint. Rather than throwing everything in the trash, separate our plastic, paper, and metal waste and deposit in a recycling bin.

·         Buy sustainable products plastic is one of the most significant contributors to soil and marine pollution, endangering both the land and marine life. Plastic isn’t biodegradable, and is often consumed by animals who mistake it as food. When buying a product, be aware of its environmental impact and disposal after use. Companies are now being questioned on their ecological footprint, and changing consumer habits are compelling them to  become more sustainable. There are several sustainable brands available today, and it is easier to find out about the products origin, materials and recyclability. When you’re stocking up on school or office supplies like folders and pens, or buying toys and home accessories, try to look for more eco-friendly alternatives that can replace plastic. For example, some of us use so much plastic from buying bottled water every day, when buying your own reusable water bottle is not only cheaper, but also much better for the environment.

·         Stop food waste our waste food sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally. Regardless of the reason, producing uneaten food is a waste of a whole host of resources such as seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, and capital invested. It also generates greenhouse gases at every stage, including methane, when you throw them and the organic matter lands in the global dustbin. We can make a huge difference by cooking, serving, or ordering the amount that can actually be consumed and ensuring there is no waste.

·         Buy locally grown products an easy way to reduce your carbon footprint is to buy locally grown products. When you shop locally instead of buying products that were shipped from far away, you are actually supporting local dairies and farms. Apart from this, you can follow organic farming practices and can grow food, including herbs and veggies, in your own backyard, Windowsill boxes, and roof and can sell the surplus to your friends.

·         Composting is a natural process that takes remains of plants and kitchen waste and converts it into rich nutrient food for your plants that helps them grow. It reduces the amount of garbage that goes to landfills, which pollutes the air. This way, it proves safe for the environment.

·          3 R’s of Waste Hierarchy the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) waste hierarchy is the order of priority of actions to be taken to reduce the amount of waste generated and to improve overall waste management processes and programs.

·         Join environment groups  we may find different environmental groups in your city with whom you can join hands to protect mother earth and make the environment clean. A quick Google search can help you in finding such groups. You can also pull your friends and relatives and ask them for a helping hand.

·         Educate others about the importance of living an environmentally friendly life. The more people share an awareness of the importance of the environment, the more we can do together to conserve it.

We youth all over the world are seizing the opportunity to commemorate awareness events and share ideas on how to protect our environment with family and community members. Youth like us are increasingly using the collective power of our voices to advocate for, lobby for, and lead campaigns to adopt environmentally friendly practices and policies. As our world's youth become more accustomed to advanced technologies and information sharing, many are seizing the opportunity to develop innovative, long-term environmental solutions. We young people are continuing to use both traditional and unconventional methods to contribute to environmental care and protection. Youth have already started mobilizing their peers through social media and other online interactions to discuss, debate, and advocate for better environmental protection.

As a student, child, adolescent, a friend, or a citizen, it is critical that we become aware of the problems in our community, country, and world. We youth, the next generation who will uphold the lofty and prosperous community, are expected to be aware of what is going on in our community. I can engage in activities that benefit nature because they broaden my understanding of the environmental issues we face today. I will also use my ability to give ideas and share what I have discovered and learned with others to help other young people like me understand the environmental issues that we face in our community. To help with the challenges, I also encourage my friends, both students and youth, to participate in our barangay's programs and organizations, such as tree planting, clean-up drives, and so on. It is used to further a goal. Take care of and protect our natural environment. This small step has a significant impact on our environment. There are some things we cannot do because we lack the necessary experience and knowledge in a life filled with adversity. However, we must not lose interest in identifying our community's problems. Problems that cannot be solved and must be answered and resolved. I also can't deny that our community and country are dealing with a slew of issues right now. We young people are open to discussing community issues. Anyone who cares about our country should be proud of themselves. And we, the youth, will extol the Filipino people's bravery and goodness.

God commissions us to rule over the creation in a way that sustains, protects, and enhances his works so that all creation may fulfill the purposes God intended for it. We must manage the environment not simply for our own benefit but for God’s glory.
